Oh, this is a sneaky one. I had to think about the ending for some time. First I thought spontaneously that he was human, just to late to share it with Buffy. But then I read your A.N. and the possibility that he is still a vamp came to me. Now I don't know what to belive. Both possibilities aren't really nice ones, right. So, very sad story. But nicely written.

And I agree with "Buffy" - considering all she sacrificed, didn't she deserve a little happiness?
