I like the part about the Air Force basicly having to agree she could still have Jack if she went back to the SGC. Good work.

What a tale; full of wonder about this odd feeling called 'love' in a warrior so wounded he never thought to feel it again. See how poetic I get after reading this! Perfect capture of the complexities of Jack and his path to accepting the inescapable attraction to Sam. And what a beautiful description of her in Jack's voice: "And then in walked the Captain...he found his reason." The flashbacks were integrated precisely, putting us in the moment of his revelations and still in the present.

Kudos. Thank goodness this is your first fanfic; I can look forward to more!
