Shellie Williams 2009-06-01 . chapter 1So sweet! I think you should rewrite ALL of the episodes and include the characters' thoughts in with all the action, maybe adding missing scenes in there, too. That's not too big of a job to tackle, is it? Nice, reading Bogg's thoughts during this scene; very nice. |
VoyagersFan 2008-12-26 . chapter 1If anyone is gonna break down the 'wall of stone', young Jeff will do it. That's the very reason why I had Bogg adopt him in my series. The two act so much like father and son, it's not even funny. They don't really have the traditional father/son relationship the way I see it. Bogg is more laid back (only to a point) when it comes to his relationship with him. Which is a good thing, the way I look at it.
Great work, Jake! |
pixiegold 2008-10-13 . chapter 1I really liked this story. It did take Boad several before he really started showing how much he cared. The wall was perfect symbolism for this too. |
Mrs.Phineas Bogg 2008-09-30 . chapter 1I really like this story, it's very deep and I like the symbolism of the 'walls' Jeffrey chiseling away at Bogg. We all know inside he's mush! And I like how Bogg reasoned why Jeffrey would make a great Voyager, how he saved his parents. Great 3rd person POV from the Pilot. |
Morgan Elizebeth Jacobs 2008-09-28 . chapter 1Short, sweet and on the AW chart. I remember watching the pilot and then all the episodes in order and you do notice how close the two end up, even when they have their "disagreements" I can see what you were writing as I have thought of the same things you have written with this POV one shot. Good job Jake. |
Peeper Stockwell 2008-09-28 . chapter 1aw, Jake! Loved it!
It was so cute, it put tears in my eyes! and you deffinately knew how to give us what Bogg was feeling, too.
I kinda thought that was how Bogg felt when he first had Jeffrey.
Nice going! |
TimeAndTide 2008-09-28 . chapter 1Though I'm not active in the fandom these days, I do look in from time to time, and this was a nice take on a moment from the pilot. Bogg always gave me the impression of having been on his own from an early age, not letting many people in even before he became a Voyager--which is probably why his growing attachment to Jeff is as poignant and transformative as it is. You convey that very effectively. (Though I have to say I don't know where the idea that Voyagers have to lose all memory of their previous lives comes from--Bogg seems to remember life as a pirate perfectly well in the "Old Hickory and the Pirate" episode. )
Small correction: "agoraphobia" is fear of open spaces. "Acrophobia" is fear of heights. |
