I was having almost the exact same feelings when I read the Artemis Fowl series. Loved Holly, despised Artemis. The sixth one was awesome though cause Holly n Artemis finally kissed!! I own the 4th n 5th books. I couldn't believe he let her die too I was mad until I read on. I was going to be furious in 6th one where he makes her think she caused his mother to get spelltropy. Good call on Eoin Colfer to let us see he really didn't want do it. Anyway this has been in my mind 4 a long time, nice to see someone write it down.

:D I remember reading that part. I was just arriving at school on the bus. I started crying and refused to read the rest until I got home, so I could cry in peace. My friend, Rebecca, was constantly saying, "It's just a book, stop crying." I was depressed all day. . .till I got home and discovered that she wasn't really dead. Which made me laugh at my stupidity for several long minutes.

Anyway, where was I? Great story!

Obviously, I haven't actually finished Artemis Fowl. I read the first book, but it didn't grab my attention the way The Wish List did, and so I stopped.

It was only a book - and everyone knows that no matter how real it might seem, the people who live in books aren't real.
