Excellent story. Two people who truly love each other and need the other to be okay for them to survive, themselves. I'm glad Morelli was a decent guy in this one and let them handle the kidnapper. At least he didn't do more than just beat her some. That will heal and she didn't have the emotional fallout that something worse would have had. Poor Ranger, to have had such a horrible experience on his mission that he almost didn't bounce back. Those of us who have never experienced war and the atrocities that come with it have no idea of the toll it takes on our military personnel. My nephew came home almost straight from a 6 month deployment in special forces and when we were eating at a restaurant, the electrical transformer right outside the restaurant exploded. He went directly into survival mode and although he tried his best to pass it off and try to let us enjoy the rest of the meal and visiting, I could see what he was going through and "needed to leave" so that he would also have an excuse to go with me. It broke my heart to see it, and he's just one of how many million? We take our freedom so for granted. Thank you for writing this wonderful story. It truly gives us a small taste of how even the strongest of men are affected by things that they see and are forced to do. As always, your writing is superb.

It's gotta be frightening when Batman collapses in on himself. I'm glad he has such a great team backing him up. I wonder what the Merry Men did to the idiot that kidnapped Ranger's woman?

How bad ass is it that Steph got herself away. She's the best.

Wow. What a letter! How could she not promise to do what he asked? To have a man lay his heart at your feet, and to have your best interests at heart is a real gift. I love that he doesn't say 'don't take risks' - instead, he says 'you're brave, I'm proud of you'. That's what makes him so much better for Steph than Morelli.

Wow. So much happened in this chapter, yet the cliff hanger might make me forget other things to bring up. I'm glad the story is complete, and I don't have to suffer through waiting to see how it pans out!

Anyway, I'm glad that Babe has taken an active role in Rangeman. I'm proud of her that she's taking her physical fitness seriously. Having the Merry Men around to help her and keep her motivated is a true bonus. I'm also glad they're there for emotional support.

Ranger's retreat into his shell is scary. It must have been horrible on the mission for him to be like this. I hope he doesn't withdraw all the way, and try to push Babe away. Thank goodness she's stubborn.

And now, the cliffie. I'll read on, and keep the faith.

By the way, I'm a fan of both Twilight and Janet Evanovich. It's great to see others who like both series. I started reading fan fiction after Finger Lickin Fifteen came out, because I was so fed up. I'm not sure I'll read 16 until 17 comes out. JE has sort of played out my last nerve, and I get the feeling her writing is now just a business, stretching out the UST between Steph and Ranger so she can continue her income stream. I'm not usually this pessimistic. What do you think?

I'm sad Ranger had to go in the wind, but I'm glad they shared the 'ILYs'. Based on the summary, I know he'll get hurt. I'm guessing that's the bad vibe Steph had the night before, and why she couldn't sleep. I like this aspect of their relationship. Her spidey sense is so attuned to him, and vice versa.

What a great story. It was great to see the "human" side of Ranger and a strong Steph. Thanks for sharing.
