I think this story is going to be pretty good. You have a good plot. The only problem is Shadow. I think she's too much of a Mary Sue. Sorry just being honest.

It's ok so far, I just have a couple comments. First of all, Shadow is a flat out Mary Sue, no question about it. She's pretty, smart, from the look of it would never do a thing wrong, and has no flaws I could see. Not being a great fighter is NOT a flaw. Secondly, try to cut down on description, I honestly don't care about the healthy green grass layered with frost. Sorry if I sounded too harsh, I'm just being frank. Anyway, there were some really good points of the story too. Aside from the over-description, I love your writing style. It makes me want to keep reading. I'm also curious where you're headed plot-wise, so keep it up!
