I am super slow - just realized that the sword stories were a series and I was reading one and four at the same time:) Great stories!

Wow... intense ending! The aftermath of open-grave-itis seems almost as horrifying as the cause. And it was great to see Lestrade's grandfather again! The writing throughout this story has been stellar, and I always look forward to a new installment. Now for The End of All Things...

Oh, nasty! Poor Lestrade - I'd be screaming by now... I hadn't thought of all the searching Watson must have done for Holmes' body, but it makes perfect sense. On to the final chapter!

I find the alternating viewpoints in this chapter very revealing. The banter was understandably toned down a bit more than usual, but still quite enjoyable. Seeing Watson through Lestrade's memory was a highly effective device, and I can't help but wonder what's going on with Bradstreet...

Apologies for the late review! You seem to excel at dark moments; if I didn't know about EMPT I'd be deeply depressed by now! Watson's reaction to the news of Holmes' bequest was a little unexpected but entirely believable. Hmm... the Lestrade angle is getting even more intriguing! And what a shock on the last line...

I love Watson's meditations in the beginning; if not for EMPT I would have cried. Especially the "but I am a sentimental man" part. I don't know how he stood it... he is certainly the type to need a certain amount of closure.

Coincidentally, today I picked up a cat that I swear weighed 20-25 pounds. At least.

Terribly sorry it's taken me this long to get around to r&r-ing. I love Clea and Hazel Bradstreet (and you get 50 virtual cookies for mentioning Boudicca), and their occasional warlike tendencies. :) Beautiful handling of the Pennywraith situation, and that last line was very telling. On to the next chapter!

*shivers* I want explanations, and action, and the finale - were it not for the fact that the world's about to explode.

And you think YOUR blood pressure is suffering - you know what you have planned!

Wait, what?! It's to be a trilogy?! You evil evil author you.

At first I was wondering if Bradstreet was acting oddly because Hazel let something slip about Clea asking for advice but Watson's acting oddly too. The question is, is it for the same reason?

Wow, that went from sad and depressing to dismal and grim to . . . just plain gross. Ew ew ew.

Plus I'm recollecting a link of grave-robbing/smuggling during the Afghan war brought up in Part I. So I'm thinking we're in further disgustingness.

Geez, between this story and "Bones," are these poor guys ever going to catch a break with corpses?!

And his day gets worse. Poor Lestrade.

I wonder what is wrong with Watson? Sometimes I cannot follow his thoughts, especially when he is upset. Is it supposed to be an anniversary of the Falls, or is he just upset because Bradstreet mentioned banks after Watson's conversation with Mycroft?

EEK! *hides under covers*

What a chapter! The matter-of-fact stating what happened right after the Falls was far more effective than any dialogue could have been.

You'll go down in literary history for tackling this epic saga, you know. Or at least you'd BETTER, if people have any intelligence whatsoever.
