Great chapter!

Came in the nick of time. One H*va fight. Even if they went out, they woulda took alot with them. Still liked the aerospace segments and ground combat, great BT side shows.

Lol, good to see Mimi Stykkis doing good in combat. An..interesting person.

Char got a good payback, he deserved it in a way...Althoguh technically "Any" enemy deserves it, he was a strange, half-good, half-bad evil. Or at least he struck me as that way. He couldn't get what he wanted, so he threw a temper tantrum basically.

Amazing! Simply amazing! But honestly, things could have gone much "better" for my character. Still, very nice work! Is this yarn finally finished? Thanks ben, it's been a great few months with you!

The battle ends with a very high note. Sheila-Char duel is probably one of the finest duels ever, matching Peter-Nondi duel in "EndGame" or Natasha-Joanna in "I am Jade Falcon". Maybe I'm biased, but I like to end a long campaign with a duel between the two stars, just like this one.

Hats off, man.

Man. I'm exhausted. What a chapter. I hope there is one more to wrap things up.

Well, the Snowbirds got their Christmas present..and now the Jags get to die well and meet their test tubes. Nice little vignettes with Mimi. I like the bit about "hiring the handicapped". Gotta read Bellueva...everybody says that is a solid book. I liked the air combat scenes...much better than the standard fiction we read and more realistic IMHO.

I think Snowbird's Battalion is going to be down for a while...but I think such an independent battalion has proven it's worth to the Sentinels in spades and could prove to be their equivalent of the Black Widows

Heh, what a Christmas present. A fresh giant group of 'Mechs and aerospace support. The Smoke Jaguars are pretty much done, hopefully.

Char's downfall was his love of drama. It sounds like he didn't want to kill the Snowbirds but to humiliate them- but any hope of that went out the window when Mary was killed. Not to mention he was infatuated with Sheila. I guess some people can't take 'no' for an answer. Most Clanners are like that.

The whole chapter can be summed up into the old saying "It is always darkest just before dawn." I had a feeling you wouldn't just let them get slaughtered, though, but I also hope they realize they were very close to death or being bondservants. Snowbirds get partial victory for holding out, the rest goes the the batallion of Mechs and aerospace fighters currently on their way down to finish off the Jags.

I'm actually looking forward to the chapter after this one- this is the first time that they were really, really pressed.

Finally the Calvary has arrived. Now the question is...what will happen to the Snowbirds during "Operation: Scorpion".

How long has it been since a story's gotten its hooks this deep in me? Good grief, it's like eating a bag of chips- you can't stop until there's no more forward button.

Let's see... Sheila's one of the best female leads I've read in a long time. You've got a knack for writing good strong females.

Maysa is a favorite of mine. I've watched her develop over the stories (yes, I read the entire Snowbird saga- at least what you've got so far- in one sitting.)

I think she's a capable Mechwarrior, but she went and got married on the spur of the moment. If they both survive this, Maysa and Dan are really going to have to think about what has happened.

I can't agree with all the decisions Sheila's made, but there aren't really any clear-cut right or wrong answers.

What would I like to see? A) A happy ending for Maysa and Dan. They deserve it, and I'm petty sure if Dan were killed, it would break Maysa mentally.

B) For that Elemental that shot Mary Scott to be stepped on several times. Preferably by the biggest, heaviest Omnimech Sheila can find. Sure, she was a raging **, but she deserved to go out in a blaze of battle, not shot in the head while being held as a POW.

C) Some kind, caring soul out there to turn this into a campaign set. (I've been dying to play some form of Battletech/Mechwarrior RPG ever since it came out. I would kill to play this campaign.)

I hope you update soon. Being as I stayed up all night reading, I'm going to catch a few Z's.

One more thing: Don't abandon this. A storythis great deserves an ending, for the better or worse.

Hey Ben, sorry we haven't been here to review these past few chapters. I got myself in the hospital after a very bad case of Liver problems. The story is going great, keep on writing, I like what you are doing... I just hope their is a happy ending to all this action.

Nice chapter.

Alot of great fighting. I got a kick out of Moore and his Marauder, sure enjoying himself...we'll see how long that lasts.

Interesting to see how the elementals are dealt with. Ontos' are great for that ;) although a bit vulnerable.

Well, we'll see how the rest goes. (Especially that the targeting computers went dead).

Dude, you can sure write battle scenes. It's almost like I'm watching a movie, not reading a story.

Oh we're half way there

Heyy! Livin' on a prayer!

Very intense scene. This is BattleTech at the very best. Better still, it's only half way there... Heyy!! Livin' on a prayer!

Do I spy what I think I spy...

Someone pulling a Morgan Kell...

Someone activating Phantom Mech?

Well, they held off as best as they could...but unfortunately they have to leave now if they are to survive.

GREAT chapter!

Love the action, and the leadup. I don't see anything I can really eh..."Rag on". about it. There's a fwe points that stuck out though.
#1. Sheila giving "The Clanner" her .44...Pretty good scene right there...>Although I myself wouldn't give up mine for anyone ;)
#2. I get a kick out of Tessya. Of the characters I liked in the series (No offence Sheila, Max,etc.) my top 5 list was: Senefa, Marion, Tooriu, Tessya and the 2 aerospace CO's (They tied).

I was just looking... I have a question, is it intentional, or just happened that most of the "Hero" characters are women? I mean I don't mind, from what I have seen on wargaming, in generally I'd rather have a guy PO'ed at me than a woman, but I was curious.

#3. The fax machine whirring after they leave...Ain't that life?
