so..i didn't want to read an update bc i wanted to wait until you post another-because i'm craving for this story THAT much. but, as always, i failed and read this one. oh god...my god. this edward is darker than any darkward i've ever read, and the tragedy is that he isn't bad, really; but the way he made her. if it wasn't clear up until now..well, after her reaction to tanya-..it's completely logical in her ind, i understand: she is not good enough for anything except to be used, used to help him so he could be with someone pretty and normal.so depressing; and she still IS bella. i don't get it, doesn't he realize that??
i always thought there's an alternative how new-moon bella could turn out, and it's kinda like this: self-destructive preson who's trying to survive any way she can, thinking she's not good enough for anything.
there's an old pop-rock song that sang about soulmates who fckd up so much they fckd up their souls irreversibly. i always thought it was cheesy, bc i believed that true love couldn't be denied and destroyed like that. now i'm not so sure.
rant over; this was bugging me last three hours-i actually got back on net to vent. just proves this is one hell of a story. please, don't make me wallow in worry for long: update!

Dear, Dear Nicky... OME! Epic heart fail! Please let it only be a nightmare. This story is depressing on so many levels. Is there no hope? Where is the love? Can we get these kids some anti-depressants, Electric Shock Therapy, Extreme Psychiatric Therapy? I will never take my over protective, dull, boring, caring family for granted again.

In NDM Bella seemed to be functioning and dealing better than Edward. Now the trend seems to be reversing.

You make me sigh after every story, shed a tear and laugh at the pain that even I, know so well.
You make me attached that everytime Edward leaves, he takes a part of me with him, and every tear Bella cries, another comes from me.

I read NDM and now I've been sucked in by this story too. It's addicting! At first I didnt like it, I'll admit I wanted the fluff but I like the change from the usual twilight fanfic. I think you've written it very well and these stories have a lot of insight. I can't wait to see what happens next. AH!

I am SO glad you are back with this story. I didn't read Natural Defense Mechanism until about two weeks ago, and when I saw the sequel, I was so excited. You are a very gifted writer and I can't wait to finish this story! =)

I'm so pleased, Nicky, that you updated! This is the story in my repertoire of things I want to read that is at the top, I'm constantly thinking about the plot when my brain is not occupied on homework or what not.

Wow, the pain is escalating again! I especially was touched by Edward's symbology of the blood at the end, it was a chilling look into his mind at his own pain. So, it sounds like Bella and Edward have finally started to find their groove again. Can't say i approve of Bella's logic at the end, but I can understand it--they do use each other, but like in the past, they began to hang out in the daylight too, didn't they? Maybe that will slowly happen again, them coming together to keep away the pain at night, and then when they can function again, slowly find each other in the day as well?

I'm curious if Edward saw her leave after she caught him and Tanya kissing, and if he'll mention it. Afterall, he's caught her eavesdropping before... I also wonder how he would react if he caught Bella kissing someone else in the day?
