Nice
Maybe the end wasn't as absolutely romantic as you could have done it, as I would have liked, but it was still pretty good.

I couldn't help but sigh in contented delight at your conclusion to this fantastic reworking of 'Deep Down' (you even give new meaning to the title!) This is exactly how Buffy and Angel should have ended in cannon: both totally in love, but knowing that they still have their own battles to fight and that *one day* they will have the happily ever after they deserve. I feel so lucky I found this completed and got to read the whole thing at once. Hard to believe this is your first foray into B/A fic- you do it like a pro! My only technical suggestions mirrors Taaroko's in that the past/present verb tense was a tad distracting. Other than that, thank you for a wonderful story!!

Prologue.

Off to a wonderful start! I always thought they could have done something more with Angel's rescue, but bringing Buffy is just brilliant. Thanks for so accurately describing the transformation of sniveling 'Wesley Wyndham-Pryce' to cold, remote 'Wes'. Buffy's observations of him were spot on. Can't to continue!

I really liked this story because you kept it real. It didn't feel like you changed the characters and Buffy and Angel still got to be together in the end. I'm glad that you healed the wounds the way you did in this story.

Great job!

Connor: Yeah, I locked him in a box and dropped him into the ocean. I don’t think he’s going to be so forgiving anytime soon.

Buffy: Buddy, that’s nothing. I stabbed a sword through his stomach and sent him to hell for a couple hundred years. Try beating that.

I love these lines! They're absolutely perfect! They remind me of the conversation Wesley and Willow had. Wesley said something about being in a dark place, where he kept a girl imprisoned in his closet, and that no one could understand what he was going through, and then Willow informs him of how she has also been in a dark place, where she allowed dark magic to consume her and tried to destroy the world. Somehow, it feels like the mistakes people make in Sunnydale are a hell of a lot worse than the mistakes people make in LA.

Anyway, great job so far. I love Buffy and Angel too, and I wish there had been more crossovers like this one.

I am glad you are bringing A/B back together and I am A/B shipper...I am also glad you are fixing Joss' mess. I really liked the story, and am hoping you are going to write some more chapters.

Has anyone ever noticed (remembered) that in City of Angel, Angel was a computer whiz. He ran complex searches on 3 different computers that he snuck into the library afterhours to run. So. he knew how to run-up a system that wasn't his and set up/run the searches. How did he ever go from there to computer/modern technology illiterate?

I've always thought that Angel forgave Wesley already by the end of his sea-shelf vacation, considering his underwater dream (where his family overcame the tragedy) and the fact that he began to try and make peace with Wesley immediately after his return. Anyway, Angel had much time to do anything but brood - and he just isn't the type not to realize that Wesley's whole situation mirrored his own in 2nd season. But this isn't the main point of your fic - which, mind you, I'm always very glad to find updated. Thank you for another wonderful instalment!
