I like this. You write your characters well and don't get overly soppy. I love to see rarely-written characters done right. Please keep updating this.

I'm curious as to why you think Dove and Ferdy can't marry. She needs to marry someone of the old Kyprish nobility, and marrying a luarin from a conservative family would help her solidify the bonds she's working to build with her upper class. I realize that adding this barrier helps you add a bit of drama, but I don't think it's really necessary.

I had never thought of this pairing before, but somehow it works incredibly well. I would love to see more of this incredibly well-written, touching fic.

Aw, poor Dove. I know what's like when a total idiot won't get the message. Lol, or should I say poor Ferdy? Laws?

ROFL, this guy must have been mad drunk!! Racist loser, ppl like that have no buisness on this earth. But good, that Ferdy changed for a pretty good part. OH Aly's step-grand? Well, Aly must be happy about that.

I loved this story very much. You can see their feelings growing, and it seems real.

The only bone I must pick with you is that in this chapter, it is hard to read. It would be much easier if the numbers and the mini titles, (such as "49 Hunger") were in bold.

Other than that, I loved it.

This is really beautiful. There was something so deeply intimate in the drabble about Ferdy's scar. I also just love the idea of embroidered eyepatches. The all black eyepatch is so ubiquitous it would never even occur to be that one could be different!

That is absolutely gorgeous. I love how you didn't take it too far or over-analyse it but just sort of left it there, it fits and it feels right. Also, your characters are just right, and realistic, and...guh. Thank you.

Great writing! I loved this- is this the end? Since you did say it was only a two-part. *sighs sadly* But I loved everything- the conversations with Kyprioth, Winnamine asking him his intentions, those lovely moments between the two (41, 34, 32, etc), Myles and Eleni turning up, Ferdy's eyepatches, and the last one.
“You know,” Dove says, knees tucked under her chin, sitting beside Ferdy as they look out on the capital at sunrise, “I believe we can make something of this.”

He says nothing, just takes her hand and squeezes it gently, because he believes that too.

Great story! I've been in love with the unlikely pairing ever since reading 'Ten is One-Hundred in Queen Years' by team fen over at LJ- and you write them so well. I love how we can see the attraction, and friendship, and trust and love and loyalty developing with the two. and we discover more about the characters as we read on. I especially loved 1,7,8,12,15,17, 19, 21, 22- every one, really. can't wait for part 2. please update soon.

So sweet, I hope that they can be together. It'd be too sad if they couldn't.
