Great story! Funny ending!

I was caught up in the darkness within John until I got totally transfixed by the dialogue between John and McKay. It was sheer brilliance!

Interesting story, kind of hard to review.
I like the first part; it's nice to think that there is some dept to Sheppart, that he cares about his actions.
About the gate, I don't ge twhy that is a problem; can;t they use the Jumper to carry it a bit closer to the mountain - after they build a whole gate bridge that way, how hard could it be?

Funny and characteristic discussion between John and Rodney. They are more in character then they were during the episde.

It was an extremely difficult decision for John and Elson and Renni to make, one that none of us would ever want to make. This tag fills in the aftermath of how all of them would feel after such a decision. Well-written as always. The repartee between Rodney and John? Priceless!

Oh, I *adored* this! Wonderful emotion. Usually I hate stories that end unresolved, but this one... really, how can John resolve that situation? He can't. He has to maybe try to settle it in his own mind and keep going, and I think you captured that perfectly here. Especially the "keep going" part because I died laughing about Rodney.

“What?” Rodney shook his head. “No, no. You’re talking nonsense. I didn’t use a double negative.” He frowned and started walking again, moving even faster than before. “Why don’t you just say I’m witty?”

“Well…” John looked up at the ceiling. “Hey, are the lights brighter?”

So many moral dilemmas. Is it just me or does SGA keep getting better and better. This has been a boomer season in terms of character development and stories. Nice having Carson back, the team together, and a common foe. Nice tag. Loved the easy bantering that so defines Rodney and John's friendship. Hope they aren't having lemon chicken for lunch. Do you have any other stories in the works?

I had hoped that you were going to give us a little insight into John and how he deals with some of the questionable things he does. He seems to be able to bury whatever dastardly deed he commits, without suffering any attack of consience and is then ready to do it again. He doesnt seem to have to battle too much with his consience and can move on easily. Any slight distraction seems to be enough for him to turn him back into his easy going self, I'm not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Aww! This was such a bittersweet look at John...and Rodney! Lovely and a bit heart-wrenching and a perfect picture of the friendship between John and Rodney. Happy now! Go-write more!
