This is marvelous.

I have to say that this is the first Dark Sokka story I've ever read...I'm considering that a crime now. Sokka is my favorite character mainly because he's awsome. He doesn't bend, is normal, and is the Xander (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) version of Avatar.

Wow, this was a relly interesting take on avatar characters. I must admit, in the finale i was all "OMG! Fire nation will rule with peace and love!" but you're right, what he hel ldoes a sixteen year old kid know? I also like the thought of sokka the funnyman being the darkest and the most intelligent. great oneshot

I both cringe and appreciate this darker Sokka. I love this new take on what the end of the war would mean for those born with different skill sets.

And I have to thank you for building your oneshot around Sokka's intelligence instead of overshadowing it for comic relief. It's so refreshing :o)

A neat little expansion of Sokka's character. His more calculating side is portrayed quite nicely, without being TOO sinister. More would be interesting, although it would probably be better suited to a series of oneshots than a full story.

definitely one of the more 'darker' fics, yes, but poignent, wonderfully written, and methinks you've far excelled yourself in this story. I like the almost...demented theme right at the end!

Oh... Sokka has a very... unique way of looking at things. Darkness is looming over his every word, deatthh... dom...etc...

There's quite a bit of truth in Sokka's thoughts here, although I am not quite sure that I buy his conclusions, it would be a mistake to underestimate the power that the benders wield, just because the benders themselves are a little on the naïve side. :o

Still I like the slightly dark tone that this story takes, he may not be able to bend, but why shouldn't Sokka take advantage of the gifts that he does possess. If he were to put his mind to it, given his position of influence, he could probably become even more powerful than Ozai had once been. :)

This is a very well written oneshot, and the storyline has a lot of potential, so I really hope that you will be able to write more at some point. =)

ooh. some scary sokka right there. i do think that its an interesting concept, that with the end of the long war a new era and a paradigm shift and yadda yadda will start.

i do hope that sokka won't turn out evil... although towards the end (the last line) it sounded a little like that

but good one shot, if that's what it is. it looks like it could turn out to be a chilling piece if you continue with it.

and last but not least, if you could write this, couldn't you try to update Spiritbender? im going crazy for an update of that!
im hoping begging will persuade you and not just annoy you ;)
