sylia91 10/26/08 . chapter 1Loved this fic! My heart melted picturing a young Dean diligently reading and annotating the parenting book and carrying out the lessons by himself. This would make a great weechester story! Hint, hint. |
fearlessgoddess2 10/26/08 . chapter 1Great story! Loved that book idea! As soon as Dean reacted to the book, I knew it had belonged to him! |
PipkinTwo 10/26/08 . chapter 1A terrific read... made me smile...loads of smooze in all the good places. Aw factor of #10! Thanks Pip |
Linnie McCary 10/26/08 . chapter 1Loved it. Loved the look back at all the stuff in the box, loved the patient humor between the brothers, loved the not-too-schmaltzy discussion about having kids, loved Dean's valiant attempt at nonchalance upon the discovery of the book, loved Sam's wondering about "who there had been to make sure Dean lived up to his potential." Just loved it. Thanks. |
WindSpirit79 10/26/08 . chapter 1Aww. How sweet. *sniff* What a great take on the boys past and their bond. I always thought Dean had a big role in Sam's upbringing. And I agree w/him, Dean did a heck of a job. |
AllieMcD 10/26/08 . chapter 1wow i love this, i love that dean was a parent to sam and that sam recognizes how much dean gave up for him |
Swissalo 10/26/08 . chapter 1Sweet, very very sweet. And very well written. But then it make me wonder... if John didn't care for the book why he'd keep it when Dean was the one to use it. Unless it was Dean's box. But that's not the important thing really. It's a good mix of Chickflick and in character-ness. |
SupernaturalGeek 10/26/08 . chapter 1That was so sweet I think I have actual tears in my eyes.. I adored the image of the boys going through that stuff and reliving memories, and there was just the right amount of humour amidst the bitter-sweet moments. Then when Sam found the book I just knew what was coming, but it was so touching to watch Dean try to put off the 'moment' and then Sam's final reaction.. I adored how he realised, again, just how much Dean did for him and showed him how much he appreciated it, even if it had to be without words (or the hug) so he could end the day with all his teeth intact! A brilliant, touching, warm and funny brotherly moment that stayed completely in character all the way through. There were so many lines I want to quote but I had to pick one so I went with this, as it made me giggle aloud: For his part, Dean kept trying to convince Sam that they really needed some landmines, but so far Sam was holding firm on that one. Perfect. You did a wonderful job there, hon. |
