Beautiful piece. How many people in life go through this exact thing. Feel these exact emotions. Even though these characters are fictional, you make the deep, emotional sadness, love, and feeling of being invisible to the one you love, feel so REAL.

Wow! What a treat. I hardly ever visit this site, and what do my little eyes see? A new fic from you! I'm in heaven. That was beautifully done. I LOVE the unique angle you took. How refreshing to explore Eddie's character and point of view. Your treatment of him was plausible, poignant, and delightfully angsty. You fit the tone of the song perfectly with the tone of your story. I was intrigued by the concept that Steph doesn't really SEE Eddie, and I could actually feel his conflict and his pain, you wrote him so well. Bravo!!

Sweet and kind of sad, but I can see Eddie maybe harboring feelings for Stephanie. I think probably half the men she's come into contact with are a little in love with her. She's just that kind of person.

Thank you! That was wonderful.I always loved how Eddie has always been there for her. I loved that he has a secret crush on her, but is man enough not to act on it, and he IS married to Shirley-the-Whiner! I've always enjoyed reading of their friendship. I think you captured him perfectly in this. I loved his musings on Joe and Ranger, too. Sizing up the competition, and realizing that Joe wouldn't support her, but appreciating that Ranger would. This was a lovely read to start off my week. Thank you for sharing!

As I was reading, I was wondering if it was Eddie...but then I thought, no--he's married & I don't think he would cheat. So I'm glad that you addressed that, and oh-so-well, too. Great job, Jaime!

Wow! Nice job, Babe! I never gave much thought about Eddie's feelings for Steph, but if you consider Ranger's feelings (a man who wants no relationship but has found himself in one-no matter what he'll admit) Joe's feelings, (he turns the other cheek regarding R&S just to keep her) and then there's three quarters of the merry men in love with her...is it any wonder Eddie has these feelings too? And, as usual, she is oblivious. Poor guy. (Poor Shirley...but she's the whiner, right? Almost makes it okay. ;)) Great song, great song fic!
