I like this view of Peggy. I always thought Pete treated her very shabbily and that Don, in his distant-mentoring way, was the kind of person needed to give a woman a push in a man's world.

She's also resisted Joan's not-so-subtle remarks when they weren't wanted or desired, and I like that, too. :)

I love this! I love Peggy's character and how complex she really is. You did a great job of showing her point of view. As a Pete/Peggy fan, too, I can't get enough of them, so it's great to read something that at least talks about them. This is beautifully written!
