I liked the Christmas theme of this chapter. It fits.

I thought that this was a great vignette of life as an Asian just before World War II, but it had enough of the Superman characters to set it in his universe. It seems like this is how the characters would react to Pearl Harbor.

Amazing cliffhanger. We all know what's going to happen in the next chapter, but it's suspenseful nonetheless.

I wanted to make this stroy as historically accurate as I could within the parameters of this being a Superman. I would formally like to thank Professor Donna Halper for her assistance with historical details. She really knows her stuff. Put her name in a search engine. Her site is incredible.

I liked the details foreshadowing the Rubber Emergency that happened just after the U.S. entered the war. This is seeming more like a historical fiction story than any other genre, becuase of all the research you put into it.

Reread he story from time to time. I tend to edit scenes and I am likely to add things from tile to time.

It's interesting how you are tying in the story to a lot of real-life issues and conflicts that happened around this time. Superman so far seems to be playing just an incidental role in the plot. It's a superhero story through the eyes of an everyman.

great start, with authentic details that really give a sense of the times, particularly liked description of the Planet, made it seem a real place, as did metropolis

I think that the fact that the viewpoint character of this story is not Superman makes things interesting, as well as highlights the racial conflicts and attitudes fo 1930's America in the context of a superhero story. Great beginning!
