This is really good. I especially like the line, "The day he discovered his father's body was a lifetime ago. It was yesterday." I also liked his introspection about whether the Fourth and the people Kakashi himself has killed felt the same way as they faced their deaths.

Oh, I love that you left it ambiguous. I think most of the fandom mature enough to understand Kakashi (I've recently branched out from the KakaIru fandom to discover that almost all other writers are grossly unfair to the rest of Team 7 that isn't Naruto) if sitting on pins and needles to see what is going to happen.

I love Kakashi thoughts. That he thinks about Iruka, and Yondaime, and the people he's killed...and the conclusion that he is like a dog. Which, I think, is the biggest compliment anyone can give.

It's nice if his dogs/ninken could make a cameo in his thoughts...since after this they would be left by their master forever...;_;

Now how are you using cold for the ending of this drabble because I can think of several connotations for the end of this drabble and I was wondering your perspective?

Yes, I too will be SO pissed should he "die"... but this is a fantastic tribute to Kakashi... and your ending is brilliantly done: luckily there are a few factors that don't quite match-up that run in our "Kakashi must live" favour - every other character death has happened in the chapter, their could be a last minute rescue, Kakashi has been voted (in Japan)always very highly in popularity polls issued by the manga (even higher than Itachi), he had a whole chronicle dedicated to him AND his Sharingan may or may not be the one Uchiha Madara (aka Tobi/Obito?) is missing...

It just can't end this way!

Aw shit. This was so sad and lovely. I really hope Kakashi won't die from a nail in the head. Still, the thought of him being loyal until his very end was nothing short of touching. Wonder how Sasuke will feel.

I have a couple of theories about how he'll manage to survive this, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Mainly because I'd hate to hope and be crestfallen in the end. Sigh. Just like Itachi.
