Hm, her characterization was very believable. She could be someone who would do anything to get what she wants even betraying someone in extreme cases (she took Tetsusaiga away for Naraku because of Kohaku). Duty and honor to her family was always her first priority.
It´s ironic that at the end of the manga Sango is a baby machine and is seen hanging clothes to dry and Kagome is in a miko garb and away with Inuyasha to fight.
I know a woman who is unhappy with her husband but buys expensive stuff to make herself happy. If I try to speak with her about it, she gets angry and accuses me of being jealous that she can afford such expensive stuff. People like that live in a world of their own making and are afraid to face the truth.

I like reading fanfics that showcase a character's reaction and shows how they change and develop under whatever different circumstances are thrown their way. I enjoyed reading this and seeing into her mind a bit in this fic.
I do have a hard time seeing her make the initial decision to marry who she chose. From that point on though, her characterization is believable.
