Swamp Thing
2009-04-14 . chapter 1
This story really got me thinking. It was bound to as it contains two of my favorite characters in the history of the page. I was forced to ponder: if homosexual, would The Joker and Pat Bateman be lovers? I personally don't think the two would have any sexual interest in each other. For Batemen, sex is foreplay. The main event is the violence. Indeed, much of his violence is sexualized (he severs vaginas, he performs abortions, etc). It seems odd that he would pick a lover as violent and dominant as The Joker. He would more likely pick a meek young man, have violent anal intercourse with him, then cut his penis off. As for The Joker himself, nothing in his history suggests that he is sexual at all, merely purely violent. The only time we've really seen him in a relationship was with Harley Quinn, and it could hardly be said that he was affectionate with her. Stil, you are a good writer.

It was well written, I'll give you that. But it is completely out of character for Patrick Bateman. Patrick Bateman is a superficial yuppy that despises everyone, he doesn't have a partner in crime and it is not in his character to have one. I'm also just going to ignore the sudden gay thing because this seems to be necessary for a story to be submitted as fan-fiction.

All I can say is "Why?"

Ahh, sweetie. You're not as bad as you think. I am sincerely enjoying this little mini-series of Patrick/Joker fics that you're plowing your way through; Livejournal, it seems, deserves more credit than I offer it. :D

Though quite short, everything that is needed to be established just is, and in that lovely writing style of yours, too. The Joker's persona is just as quirky and strange as Ledger's, which is now how most people think of the guy. I absolutely love the last paragraph, for all of its abandon - Though we both know this isn't the first time - and perhaps spontaneity. And do I detect a sense of very subtle self-plugging with the 'gutting hookers' line? :D
