EXCELLENT! It's so in character, it's realistic. I can see it happening. The only thing is that Ochiai is not attracted by Kiri's looks, but her attitude. When you said he pointedly ignored her, is he trying to make Kiri jealous, or has he forgotten her altogether? If he's attracted by Kanako's looks, he wouldn't forget Kiri. If you get what I'm saying.
