LC 5/10/09 . chapter 1 I liked it very much. My only complaint is that around this time period, Dodgson would have been closer to 30, as opposed to 40. |
nikkilittle 11/20/07 . chapter 1A beautiful and sentimental piece. Very nicely done. Thank you for the respectful treatment of the relationship between Alice and Carroll. |
fookykitty 6/20/06 . chapter 1I like this story! Its different. In real life lewis carol was a petafile and he was known to take pictures of naked children. Just a foot note. |
Nickolaus Pacione 4/29/04 . chapter 1This is a tight story, well written. I should really thumb around your work more often. You did a good job with this one. I was wondering if you are also on because I was curious to what you wrote over there. This is one that stands out in my mind because one hadn't wrote the real-life version of Alice, and this is one that stands out because of how creative it is. You are a good writer; and never knew that you were on (perhaps you might of found me a few times over there as well as knowing about my deadjournal.) There is nothing I can suggest to make this story stronger because you proved how talented you are with the Harry Potter/Cthulhu crossover. I did something similar with Sherlock Holmes and Cthulhu more with Dagon. |
 Trashcandy 10/24/03 . chapter 1A very darling Lolita-esque story. I enjoyed it v. much. |
fledge 2/18/02 . chapter 1An absolutely lovely story that makes you want to smile and cry silently at the same time. "Investments" indeed! |
Dynast Grauscherra 2/4/02 . chapter 1Great work. I have always been fascinated with the man Charles Dodgson, and reading this tale has inspired me to learn more about him. A truly wonderful story. |
EntreNous 1/9/02 . chapter 1Wow. I admit, Carroll's Wonderland books have always been one of my favorites, ever since my father leant me his copy of "The Annotated Alice" when I was 13. Dodgson has always been particularly...'curious.' Anyway, brilliantly written. Reads exactly in the style of the original Alice books! Extremely unique idea for a "fanfiction." Brava! _ |
Mistah Js girl having login problems 12/12/01 . chapter 1 Wow! Really that was fan-tas-tic. I'm a very big Carroll fan and I've read many bios about him, I thought this story was really good. And just right, so many people take it to one extreme or another and you found the perfect middle to write about this situation.
You might enjoy Katie Roiphe's Still she haunts me. I found it very much like your story, which impressed me as I really liked the book.
I think you hold a lot of talent as a writer, and you kept so true form to both Lewis Carroll and Alice Liddell. I'll be looking for more things written by you, and maybe something like this again.
This was truly very good, wonderful dialog, perfect diary entries. I actually thought they were more like he would have written than Katie Roiphe had him write in her book. I was amazed with this beautiful piece. Drop me a line sometime to talk about writting or all things Carroll, or if you want to update me and tell me you write a new story!
Great story! |
Readasaur 12/8/01 . chapter 1 A nice work of nonfiction, but I don't think it belongs here. |
Blynneda 12/3/01 . chapter 1 Wow, I thought your other story was good, but this is perhaps even better. I've read a bit about LC myself recently. I really like the exploration of the relationship here. There was a play published by someone called Alice's Adventures Under Ground that deals with similar topics as these, I wonder if you've read it? I love the way you maintained the sort of language used in LC's stories, too! |
Catherine 12/3/01 . chapter 1 This was really good! Sorry, I don't normally review, and I'm not very good at it, but no one else did, so I thought I better. |
