Alexia8246 2008-11-21 . chapter 1Wow. "Neither do I." I'm not even kidding, I got chills right there. Well, maybe not chills, but maybe a better word is tingles. Because this wasn't an "aww, how cute" fic, this was just good writing, plain and simple. Thank you for sharing this with us!! :)
And by the way "And from the top of the monkey bars to the twinkling stars above—it was the closest to heaven he’d ever felt." was the perfect end to this peice. GOOD JOB! |
Firestar9mm 2008-11-13 . chapter 1Worth the wait--a most fabulous gift. THANK you. (And thanks for the shout. You are right--I got your back, Marine! *^_^*)
One of the (many) things you are good at when it comes to writing, especially when it comes to writing Seiji and Nasuti, is a romantic maturity. And you and I both know how sadly lacking something like that is when it comes to fanfiction, even in a fandom that's been put through its paces like YST has. As we've discussed in the past, it's aggravating as hell when you see authors write completely implausible, utterly insensible, badly paced romantic relationships, because that's not how it happens in real life. Real romance and real love is the sort of thing that builds over time, and needs a strong foundation--and you have squarely speared my favorite type of strong foundation--PARTNERS. Trust is SO important and it's so seemingly underrated. It's my opinion that the best sort of lover is a mission partner--someone you can trust to be your backseat or to take point and add their hands to yours, and you never have to worry too hard about the maelstroms that may come, because you know your mission partner will always have your back. Real romance isn't always about alpha and beta or princess and knight--sometimes real romance is about four eyes, four hands. Partners--it's like you read my mind and saw my favorite way of interpreting their relationship. I LOVE it!
And the icing on the cake is seriously the entire "I'm on your team, retard" conversation. I LOVE seeing Shin with fangs instead of the fanon pouf that so many people turn him into. I can picture him stuffing snow into Shuu's hood and then pulling it over his head. *^_^*
Love it! |
