Man, this is great, cos I've always thought that it was unfair to kill Ortiz, after all, he was only doing what the Master told him. I really loved this.

Oh. In a way, I feel sorry for Ortiz. He had a good soul, but the Master's will was too strong. If he had not been the one who burned Kestrel's home, there might have been something. Alas, we will never know, because she is gone...

E an Ortiz/Kestrel fic! I loved him in Slaves of the Mastery and I cried when he died, because I really thought he should have been with Kestrel. I also was looking for an Ortiz fic a few years ago and didn't find it :( So thanks for giving me what I've been looking for!

Wow I loved this! I loved Ortiz in Slaves of the Mastery. I am always sad when I read about him dying. He's so innocent though he seems cruel. And reading this only brings out his soft side more, which is apparent in the book also. I would love to read more on this if you added anything else! It looks like a oneshot but you could definitely add to this! Great job on this! I loved it!
