She WAS right to be worried, wasn't she! Their interaction is not quite that of a comfortable normal couple. There is always that slight uncertainty when she's with Severus. She's never quite sure how he will react or what he will say, and it keeps her on her toes. He will be snarky one minute, and the next very gentle with her. It is obvious that he loves her, though, and needs her in his life. And you write a cliffhanger very well! What will happen next? I really would like to know.
As for your female character, I think she's a little too confident to be Maura, but she has some tendencies. I don't see her as any character that I'm already familiar with. She's extremely well done. I hope your muse returns soon so that we can see what's next.

Oh, this just reminds me why I do love to read your writing so much. The fears and distrust Severus has in the institution of marriage are so much easier to believe than a happily married Sevvy. Let's face it, Severus is damaged goods, and he is well aware of that fact. His attitude is difficult to live with, and he is unapologetic about it. The fact that he's found someone who loves him in spite of, and maybe even because of, his flaws is a miracle in itself. I see him as too afraid to grasp on to it tightly for fear it would disappear. Better to keep it at arm's length and maintain it as it is. The woman in this story is SO well done. She understands him, allows him his little idiosyncrasies, and puts up with his sour demeanor-most of the time. I adored it when she had enough and got snippy right back at him. NO ONE could take his snarky mouth all the time without having to respond. She is a good woman, but not a saint. Beautifully done. I loved it.

How poignant and sweet. It brought tears to my eyes to think that someone felt this way about Severus. The best thing so far is the interaction between him and this tender, caring woman who understands him so well. She knows how he is, and where it comes from. It doesn't keep her from getting a little frustrated with him, but it does prevent her from running out the door like her hair is on fire! He's never been an easy one to be around, love him or hate him. Great story so far. I am enjoying it so much!

Sounds like a violent allergy to Pepperup, and as many times as he's brewed it, he's probably going to be worse than ever--I wonder if brewing Pepperup always makes him sick, but he puts up with it anyway?

oh please write more of this story it was awesome. one question or two ok 1. are they married? and two how did severus get sick and almost die? this story was awesome you did a wonderful job of wrtiitng it. ^_^

I think both of them need to go the hospital wing...it sounds like she's coming down with whatever it is as well. I know just how she feels, too--doing her best to keep him from getting sicker against all his stubbornness.

Well...he'd hate it, but there is a time and place for a) a Bubblehead Charm to keep the snow and wind off, and b) a bit of levitation, because he's not going to make it back into the castle otherwise. I'm so glad he's being looked after (and I suggest a hot bath for his wife, too, because she's probably chilled to the bone as well).
