Gritty life at it's best in the apartments down the street. You so totally own these two. Doesn't matter what genre or what theme. They are yours.

You always make Saitou such a cool guy. (smirk) I can just see him as the star of a movie: the perfect terrible-with-words, silent badass...in America, he'd be played by Benicio del Toro. In China, Tony Leung. In Japan...hm. Weird. I can't think of anyone. Most of the j-drama actors I'm familiar with are just too pansy-soft and young for the part.

I bring this up because with this story in particular, I felt a distinctly visual element to it. You use very little dialogue, the story itself is silent...and reminded me a lot of a Wong Kar-Wai flick (can you guess which one? XD) with the stillness of the scenes. The interactions are on the surface very cold, but the undertones are very loaded. You also make use of repetition of scenes...routine...but something is always subtly different with each take (Maggie Cheung's infinite dress changing).

It was an effective mode of storytelling. Quite captivating in the same way. Even down to the expecting-something-big-to-happen-but-at-the-same-time-not-really-because-deep-down-you-know-it's-not-that-kind-of-fic feeling.

I really like the way you wrote his introspection. Him not wanting to leave in case she should return, not wanting her to face a locked door, was touching, and revealed the feelings he had for her. He held out hope where there should be none. Wow. This trilogy is a real gem! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love your 3 part story! I am kinda sad its over. I kept hopping it would rain, its the perfect story to read on a rainy day - its just like rain dreary and sad and filled with hope. Lol well at least tahts how i see rain :P. But once again another beautifully written story!!
