Despite how much I hate it when a character dies in a fanfic, I think this was very well fitting. Instead of incorporating Yu's death just so they can admit their feelings[too often used], I like the fact that you added the ties that connected Lavi to Kanda, and when severed, allowed things to progress in a non-corny fashion that actually made sense[Lavi's removal of his alias and reason to take a new one].

sorry, but this is really good! -reading with amazing grace in the BG- the ending for a warrior like him and with lavi's occupation, it will really be bittersweet... with yuu dying, the bookman jr. can finally move on. crap.. why is it has to be so sad. >_> Thanks for the fic!!

Thank you for writing this. I thought it was going to turn out a tad cliched(yeah sorry about that!) and was going to ditch it but didn't and thank goodness for that! It was really lovely.
I like how they were able to part with each other so naturally. It felt as if they were already assimilated into each other, that they'd lived with no regrets. You know, how Kanda maintains that attitude of his even on the verge of death and Lavi talking to him so casually makes it so bittersweet. And oh my gosh, the closing line was heart wrenching. It hit hard. But thanks really, it was a nice read!
