Delilah Draken 2008-11-17 . chapter 1I liked how you showed the conflict within Bumblebee's inner self, though reading through it I couldn't help but think that there isn't as much 'conflict' as one would believe. The way you've written his thoughts reminds me of that one episode of Jim Henson's Storyteller where a soldier was caging death, and in the end was never allowed to die because death took a liking of him.
This story carries the same kind of sadness in it, a prolonged suffering that is not seen as such by the sufferer.
And still I think that some if Bumblebee's behaviour is not changed by the infection, that a certain way of thinking is inherent to all Cybertronians, even though the Autobots would rather like to never mention it.
They dared to deprive me of my superior form, they dared to allow that medic to touch me, to block my processes, to cage me in the disgusting little human body. This sentense describes is well, I think. It shows the parallels between Bumblebee's growing awareness of his darker side, and the way Ironhide was reacting in the movie. It is maybe evidence for a hidden xenophobia that, when seen as an entity of its self, can't be deleted from their basic identities.
Anyway, this little story was an pleasure to read. |
