Wonderful writing here - your characterization of Sid is so frightening and well done. He was definitely a messed up kid and his propensity for torturing toys could easily have turned into something worse as he got older. Well done.

This is so wonderfully-written that I don't even know where to begin.

...I guess your characterization of Sid would be a good place to start. He's wonderful, the character that Pixar DOESN'T want their viewers thinking about, a genuine sleaze. No fictionalized, romanticized bad boy here-- this kid's a serial killer in the making, a genuinely terrifying boy that nobody really wants to know (and that might be the problem).

With all of the detail and description you layered into this brief story, it feels much longer, in a good way. The ending is a touch of brilliance-- we're relieved that Cristina has been saved, but we're still left feeling slightly ill with the memory of the blonde girl and of Hannah, and the knowledge that all is not right, even now.

This is oh-so-lovely... dark in the best of ways. You make language work for you, and you don't have to resort to endless 'fuck's to get your point across-- something I admire in darkfics.

Woah...totally creepy...yet, frighteningly in character. 0.0 Sid was one messed up kid. Great story, the writing is phenomenal, and I love the idea of a toy standing up for its human, even with the risk of being discovered. Plus, Sid totally gets what's coming to him. Awesome job!

You know, for years I wondered what happened to Sid because frankly, that child was a little dark for a kid's movie; I was never satisfied with the happy Disney ending where he gets scared and you're made to assume he'll clean up his act.
Thank you for finally putting an end to those suspicions that everything didn't end okay.
