rockyshadow 2009-03-14 . chapter 1Those fake French waiters were horrible. It's so cute that Don wanted to impress Jess, but that restaurant was definitely not the place to do it. I love that she took him to a hot dog stand after they left that awful establishment, we already know that he loves the food at the outdoor stands. He was so adorable about taking the mustard off her face. That ending made their first date one of the best either of them ever had. |
lily moonlight 2008-11-26 . chapter 1Sorry my review is late... I really enjoyed this, and I love how you write Flack and Angell, and the romance with the little twist of humour here. It brought the story and the situation to life.
Poor Flack, I can see him wanting to get things right so much, and being so frustrated when they didn't work out. I liked how you brought in at first the little hint that things might not go quite to plan with Angell hoping for a different style restaurant.
The characters of the waiters were great, cameo roles, but vividly done. I wss really laughing at how insulted they were at Don and Jess's unintentional disasters, and then how suddenly he loses his French accent and it becomes a Brooklyn accent instead.
I really loved finally how it was Angell who sorted things out and suggested hot dogs, perfect for them both, and the mustard was very sweet, as was the sttars and Flack's comment. Such a nice story, thank you! |
