Not bad. Much much much too short for the big content. Lotsa details missing. You really should continue, but emphasise on length. However the monsters seem to be dispatched too easily. Except for that i think its great

ten times as long with description.

Description is good, it can bring: Suspence, emotion, atmosphere, lot's of good things.

Try to make your story as long as possible and savour those precious moments which one carn't wait to write. The duels, the floating sorceras, the enchanted paladins. It works, trust me

Hmm... and again the underdog wins only because if the main character died there wouldn't be a story to write. It's quite annoying when a weaker person faces a tougher person and somehow the weaker person wins with nary a scratch.
