Ohh, I was horrified when Darry threw up on Jackie's shoes! It was one thing for him to be seen a bloody mess, but that could slide, made him look tuff.. but vomit's just gross, and it's never gonna make anyone look cool or strong or anything, especially not to a brat like Jackie, who would pass it along to her cousin. And then crying? Man, s'just not Darry's day, huh?

Aw geez, poor Darry. Seems like if it weren't for bad luck he'd have no luck at all. And the nut shot? Dirty pool, Shepard; I thought guys didn't do that to other guys.

I kind of like this side of Darry. Feeling a little beat down and being all thoughtful ... he's definitely a realist.

So as soon as Tim started talking about the book, I smiled. I love A Clockwork Orange. :)

Liked this. Liked Linda letting him think that she was this world traveler and then fessing up that her life was much less glamorous than she'd initially led him to believe. I also liked that Linda couldn't work the percolator - seemed like a very realistic touch. And I also liked the light bantering between Pony and Bryon - especially when they were talking about girls.

PS. I REALLY liked the way Ponyboy got all antsy about his name here, too. ;-P

Is it wrong that I laughed when he puked on Jackie's shoes?

I liked that Peggy didn't hesitate to take him to the hospital. He may be a grown up but sometimes grown ups still need their parents and I love that she steps into that role when he needs it. I also liked that she wasn't fooled by the boys' bs story and called them on it.

I liked that Anita was annoyed with Jackie's being more upset over having her shoes puked on than seeing that Darry was bleeding and obviously hurt. The interaction between Two-Bit and Anita was great too.

I liked that the doctor saw right through his story but didn't make waves. I also liked that he knew the score when it came to Darry's finances and pointed out the fact that it was a charity hospital and he could get away with paying half the bill and that he could come back to the hospital to have the stitches removed even though he technically shouldn't.

And I have to ask: was Keith and Anita Mathews intentionally in homage to Keith Richards and his wife Anita? =)

This was another great chapter. I liked the sibling/sibling interaction between Two-Bit and Anita, that was great and very believable. And yes, Darry throwing up all over Jackie's shoes was absolutely spectacular - she totally deserved it, and her reaction was priceless.

I liked the bit with Tim and the trash can, too lol. If that were me, I would be laughing so hard at Jackie ...

Anyway. I hope you update soon, I really like this. And I want to see how Pony's going to react to all of this. I can completely imagine him yelling at Darry about how worried he was ... "Do you have any idea what time it is?"

Poor Darry, Two-Bit and Peggy, heh. I liked the "fuck you Darry" part. :P Does wonders for Darry's rep as Professional Cynic, heh.
