I think you were fairly accurate with how Link would feel.

He doesn't really belong anywhere, and no one will ever know of his woes.

I'd like to think that Navi was with him from the start, but she flaked out on him after the Imprisoning War ended. You'd think that the Deku Tree would at least let Navi stay with Link, after all of his services.

He can't really get with Zelda either, because no one knows his name, and a commoner can't get with royalty. So. Good show. ]
