This is a very good Labyrinth story. You do not start the romantic interactions near the beginning like most authors do, which leaves enough time for a plot to begin being fleshed out.

Regarding your question on the slow beginning, I have to say that it fits this story. It gives readers an opportunity to speculate on the next chapter. For some stories, a fast paced beginning suits it. Howver, this one is very effective with a slow beginning.

The only thing that seems a bit odd is the interaction at the restaurant and the scene at the house afterwards. The restaurant scene does not seem to meld with the other scenes effectively, seeming to exist only to create an argument. Even though the argument is necessary, it seems odd that it starts because of a man.

A few line-breaks may also help with readability. Sometimes, people get confused when a scene suddenly switches from one location to another, or if it occurs later in the day.

The story is very good. It has definitely caught my interest.

Oh a bit of a cliffhanger there. :) I gotta say, I'm really digging that bit of S/J interaction. It's so amusing to see them go at it like that. :) You do a great job of characterizing both of them, and this is a great story line. I can't wait to see what happens next!
