Interesting. I foresee some interesting drama on the horizon. Uchiha Itachi still responsible, if partially, for his parents' deaths. Sasuke out for revenge. Sakura stuck in the middle with the addition of coffee in the picture. Fascinating.

The change from one scene medium--letter, email, story-telling, excerpt from journal--isn't quite as smooth as I would like. It's done in a choppy manner, where one reads of something and then suddenly it jumps to something else that seems somewhat unrelated. I would have preferred a little more depth. If you don't mind stories above the R rating, I would recommend 'The Spy and The Hitokiri' by anna-neko at /spy_prologue.asp . It isn't quite the jump of story-telling medium you use, but the jump from one POV to another is somewhat similar.

An excellent start to an excellent story. I have high expectations, but I'm not sure if that's exactly healthy for you. I don't really have any advice for you other than to check easily looked over misspellings.
