This was really beautiful. Now that the semester's over, I hope to catch up. I REALLY need this book, sounds like. We had to read All's Quiet on the Western Front in high school and I liked it. I like reading stories from the "enemy's" POV: it helps, IMHO, reduce or prevent nationalistic paranoia. I remember reading the 1914 Xmas story. It was very powerful to me.

-off-topic: I've reformatted the first few chapters of Comeback to improve readability.

That made me feel rather tearful. Beautifully written, and tragic. Addresses a few important things, such as who was really an enemy? Loved it.

Aw, poor Anton! Very well-written, though, as usual. It's nice to see another snippet from Anton's life, sad though it may be.
