Shade40 3/25/12 . chapter 30Well, my first reaction was to wonder who is talking and when will it be answered? The opening alarm clock fight reminds me of my sister and was fun to read. My second reaction was to wonder if this is a flashback or some form of psychosis? Seems like a dream, but with a chapter title of "Identity Crisis", I don't want to bet on that yet... And now, at the end, both of their comments suggest that the memories/flashbacks/dreams will be linked to swapping body control. You didn't make it clear if Michael had to prepare the PowerPoint for a presentation due THAT DAY, or if he was being a good dooby and was preparing a day or two in advance. Nothing quite as sad as students getting ready ten minutes before they have to present. I wonder if very many people with split personalities ever wonder if they're really the 'real' version of themselves. It'd be impossible to be absolutely certain. If I were Michael, I would definitely be worried about whether evidence was left behind in Samael's killing, but it would more be because I'm the type who believes "If you want it done right, do it yourself." Samael might be crazy, but he doesn't strike me as incompetent either. Not knowing where your body has been - that would be freaky. And when Samael's goals might not line up with Michael's (though they appear to at the moment), what would be more frustrating than fighting with yourself literally, rather than figuratively? |
Strife The Bonecrusher 3/21/12 . chapter 30very nice chapter good sir can't wait for more |
Storyteller of Darkness 3/20/12 . chapter 30Ah, the classic mind-rape. I love the mind-rape. That's part of the reason why I love riddles so much. There is nothing quite as satisfying than screwing with someone's mind. I have a few if you would like to hear them. Poor, poor Michael/Samael/whoever. His mind is officially screwed. As Samael becomes freed from his bandages, he becomes more and more of a threat to what remains of Michael's sanity. Will Samael achieve complete freedom and reign terror upon all of humanity and bring about the new humanity? Or will Michael be able to control Samael. My current information regarding Samael is as follows: 1. He is a vision and embociment of Michael's insanity/Diclonius nature. 2. As Michael embraces his urges to kill, Samael becomes fred from the bandages that once bound him. 3. Samael is insane. The I-sacrifice-small-children-on-an-altar-in-dark-rit uals-to-appease-my-demonic-gods-and-I-totally-love -it kind of insane. A very... unique form of insanity. 4. Samael has memories that Michael no longer has or has supressed. 5. He loves toying with Michael's mind. From all of this information I have deduced a theory. I believe Samael cannot be a mere creation of Michael's Dicloniius nature that has been dormant for years. No. He is in fact everything about who Michael is that Michael has supressed and feared, which explains why he has memories Michael does not. The Diclonius nature that Michael was born with was added to the mix and produced Samael. In other words, Samael is the manifestation of everything about Michael that Michael has tried desperately to ignore. It is his evil inhibitions. To use the obvious ploy on names you have made, Samael is trying to drag Michael to Hell with him. Samael is what Michael could become. Samael is Michael's future as long as he continues down this path. Now I wait in suspense to see if my theory is correct. I have analyzed and hypothesized, all that waits is the observations. I eagerly await to discover if Michael will descend into Hell and become a King of the Diclonii, or if he will exact his revenge and halt the imminent apocalypse that will be brought on by the immanent threat that is himself? |
The Man Who Has No Life 3/16/12 . chapter 30... Talk about a major Mind Rape. Anway, it was nice showing Michael's better memories of his parents to show what he's fighting for. Unless Michael starts learning how to overpower Samael, the only way I can see this ending is with him being a prisoner in his own body. Like how Samael is stuck inside of Michael's head, but reversed. Though I think I caught the hint. To me it looked like Michael has more issues than we imagined, and using WMG logic, the Michael we were just reading the POV from could have been another personality, though seperate from the Michael we've been reading so far. On a side note, even if Michael isn't real, he'd likely make a much better son than Samael... I'd be too scared of going to sleep with him nearby...I'd be scared of staying awake around him either. |
Saint River 2.0 3/16/12 . chapter 30Thank you for updating. Good chapter |
Saint River 2.0 3/2/12 . chapter 29This is definitely different from most stories that involve a male Diclonius. Good Job. |
habu-chan 2/20/12 . chapter 29 tee-hee-hee! reading raven's reactions was funny. we cannot wait for the next chapter! |
Shade40 2/17/12 . chapter 29I like Noah's thoughts about the WE ARE SAMAEL message. The psychological explanation of creating a new persona as a coping device is rational, as is the possibility that choosing WE instead of I would help confuse the police investigation. But since he knows so much about Michael, it is much more clear to Noah that madness has set in. Depicting multiple personalities is tough, but you're doing it well. To the sufferer, the other 'person' is real, while to everyone else, you're just a freak talking to yourself. Even if you know it's all in your head, that's not much of a consolation. You slipped into your old present/past tense verb error. Careful. Pay particular attention to your use of 'has'. |
3 Phantoms 2/17/12 . chapter 29A ha! Noah's finally beginning to feel the heat. That's good, the satelite was a nice touch- it reinforces the 'heat' that Samael is creating. I noticed a few spelling errors (mostly with has/had) but not many. All in all, another good chapter! |
LSSJ2 Gohan 2/15/12 . chapter 29You're really turning this story into an epic thriller, keep it up! Also, thanks for the little gift you gave a while back. PS: Since you already have 100 reviews... can I make a TV tropes page of this story now? |
The Man Who Has No Life 2/15/12 . chapter 29Now if only Michael would manage to top Samael's kill in terms of brutality... Oh well. I can't wait to see how/if the investigation team gets further away from the truth now that a mole is in. And Noah should realize, with his current luck, that plans, even th best laid ones, can get out of hand. ... What is Noah's medication, anyway? I'm starting to get as interested in Noah and Jessica as I was in Michael, because of what they're doing/happening to them. Keep up the good work. |
Storyteller of Darkness 2/15/12 . chapter 29BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Samael's finally gotten Noah's attention! Let the dance of brains and backstabbing and blood and mayhem begin! It was a little short, but still good. I can't wait to read more. I've always loved anti-heroes, and Michael/Samael is a wonderful example. well done. |
Forsaken284 2/15/12 . chapter 29Well this is turning out to be quite the story, keep it up! |
The Man Who Has No Life 2/14/12 . chapter 28It was well written as always. But I have to say, I wanted to handwave Gerald's friendliness as just that; now, I can't ignore it, and I'm interested in where this plotline goes. Also, Michael is becoming more brutal... I think I pick up the hints of how this could end for him. |
habu-chan 2/2/12 . chapter 28 yay! that was really good! i loved watching their reactions. well, it's not really 'watching' but you get the point. i hope you update soon! ...heehee...blood is pretty. |
