I like how you had Dice be humble and embarrassed in front of Donna as well as his explanations for why he does what he does and for keeping the kids with him. Good job, I'm looking for more.

I'm really looking forward to sitting down and reading this whole piece through when it's completed. I know you explained in brief Dice's relationship with his deceased lover, Nina, but I'm really hoping that more is revealed about his past as this story progresses!

So there will be a softer side to Dice or at least good memories for him this time? You're tackling his reason for living - should be interesting.
