angry penguin 1/3/08 . chapter 20Wow. Very well done. |
shina-schatten 6/18/07 . chapter 20This was a very interesting piece. I can see how this would be a choice for Adora to make if the rebellion had not made any progress in 5 years. The losses of friends also makes her resolve stronger. I wonder what the consequence of using the Sword of Protection to kill will truly be. The shock and temporary death can't be the only consequence. I will read the secon installment soon, But it is after midnight and I have work in the morning. |
ali10 8/27/03 . chapter 20Okay, this is the story that brought me to fanfics (through a link on another site) a few years ago and I just wanted to say how totally great it it. I actually didn't know what it was a fanfic of but once i found out i tracked down every old he-man and she-ra movie i could... anyway great story. It's very well written! |
Chris Gilbert 5/27/03 . chapter 1You have a great imagination for one so young I hope that I will get to know you better. Sincerely Knight Thunder |
Draquia 5/10/03 . chapter 20Wow. Just wow. Julie, you are a fantastic writer, and you know the She Ra series back to front. This fanfiction is incredible. I hope you're still writing it, because I'd really like to see the end of it. I cannot believe you only have nine reviews. This is a beautiful work. I think I'll go publicize it to my friends. Your story is on my favourites list, and I'll be checking it nearly everyday to see if you've updated. But even if you stop this fic here, thank you for writing the best She Ra fanfic I've ever read. |
NinjaZeo10 8/23/02 . chapter 20Oh...my...god. This is so good. From what little I remember of the tv series, the civilian apathy sounds dead on. It can only be moreso if the rebellion is still going on five years after She-Ra joined them. Glimmer's acceptance may be slightly too easy, but it isn't too far out of line. This is really good. |
SamJNick 8/14/02 . chapter 20I used to watch this cartoon as a kid, but I cannot recall ever finding it this interesting. I stumbled upon your fanfic and what a wonderful surprise! It is so well written. I've already moved on to Book 2, but I wanted to put a review in here. Obviously, you have a love of words and use them to near perfection. Some of your physical descriptions, as well as your detailed insights into the characters motivations are so vivid. I was completely lost in the story. Thanks for a much needed flight of fancy. I would love to see more people reading your work. Or should I say "reviewing" it? Oh well...on to Book 2! |
ceridwen-amyed 4/8/02 . chapter 20Wow... That's pretty much all I can say :P Very intense powerful story... I got completely hooked on this and read all of it in one sitting when I was supposed to be doing my homework. Oops :P Anyway, I'm going to go read Book 2 because it's going to be fabulous. I just know it. You're a great writer darling - keep it up! |
TesubCalle 2/9/02 . chapter 20I simply must echo Star's sentiments. Damn lazy readers! This is good stuff. Aside from minor grammatical errors (which plague just about *every* story ever posted at - are competent beta readers that hard to find?) this is one of the *BEST* She-ra stories I have ever read. I'm off to read the sequel now! at 6 in the morning! AGH you have me hooked, you loser! |
The Wobbly Guy 2/4/02 . chapter 1This is an excellent story, but it seems that the rebels are being given the short shift here. Strategy-wise I see no reason why they are still only in a stalemate. It's not that difficult to beat the Horde, actually. Cut off their supplies, or slip poison into their food and water supplies. Capture, destroy their equipment at every juncture. Stretch their patrols thin, then ambush every nice weakly defended facility available. Erode their morale by forcing onto the average Horde line trooper the hopelessness of their situation and the benefits of defection. The action has to be nonstop, to force the Horde onto the back foot. The aggressor has the advantage of selecting the time and place of battle, which the Great Rebellion of Etheria should have used. The more victories they have, the more people will come forward to fight. Victory decides the minds of people very easily. Offer medals, glory and honor for successful rebels to pull in more recruits. Success breeds glory, which in turn brings in more troops, which raises the chances of success for futher ops. Classic guerilla strategy. I picked up these tactics from the book Mercenary's Star by William Keith, where the basic setup is almost identical. Agricultural planet, oppressive overlords, and a small band of rebels fighting for freedom. They didn't have She-Ra or anyone similar on their side. Heck, they didn't even have a safe haven! They finally won by headhunting the leadership and capturing the capital. Come on, have the rebels wake up and realize that their job is no bed of roses. To defeat the Horde, they need to take war to the knife. Still, if they had done all of the above, and won, this great story won't be here for us! :) |
IronicSymphony 1/12/02 . chapter 1First off - how can a story like THIS only have three reviews? LAZY DAMN READERS! This fic is AWESOME! Julie, you have such a flair for writing! Everything from your understanding of the characters and the situations you detail is done with such skill - how many years have you been writing for? It's a great story - and a great concept! I'm left quite...do you mind if I pick my jaw from the floor? I don't normally read such long stories but I...couldn't stop reading The Betrayal! Expect reviews for me in your latest chapters! (ps - I'm curious to know what repurcussions will come of Adora's slaying with the sword of protection) (pps - more Adam pleeeeease! That's what a She-ra He-Man fic needs!) |
Trina 1/8/02 . chapter 1 It's about time someone makes a great story like this! ;) Keep up the good work and I hope to read the next chapter soon. |
Amanda 12/10/01 . chapter 1 Great story. I can't wait to read more! |
Rosepixie 12/8/01 . chapter 1This is really good! Write more please! |
