Well, I have to say I'm not really one for Clana, so for whatever reason, this chapter blindsighted me slightly.
I truely expected the wedding to happen. I mean Lana was so "determined" about it and what with the whole "Luthors always get what they want" thing, I didn't think anything would get in the way.
But, I guess in a moment of insanity I forgot about Clark.
Aside from all that, you created some wonderful images in this chapter. I loved the how you made the moment in the bridal room (a moment that should have been so full of joy) so silently tragic; and the vision of a devestated Clark being comforted by Lana in her bloodstained wedding gown was beautiful.
Can't wait to see how Chloe and Lex's relationship changes now that his "last chance" is gone!

Oh no, is Lex going to blame Chloe for this? Is he going to find out that it was a phone call that Chloe received from Clark that made his "perfect" woman leave him? I am so frightened for her. I hope that Lex just doesn't leave her for Lionel to punish. Absolutely incredible update! I can't wait until you post the next chapter! This story is facinating!

I've heard the frog and scorpion story many times and have seen it used in fics even more often, so when i read the start of your little story i thought to myself 'oh, no. not again' but when i actually read it, i really liked it. in other stories it fit but it was 'ehh' but here, i really thought about lex's nature and i completely agree with that i thought it was a great analogy that really worked well. nicely done.

You are incredible! Love the update to your story! I really hope that Chloe stops using Jimmy. Although I've never liked him, I hope that Chloe realizes that she doesn't need him. He is her Lana. And Lana's are never necessary! Thank you so much for the new chapter! I can't wait to read more!

Ah the scorpion and the frog. or, 'the scorpion and the swan, as Xena romanticizes it.
I'm just utterly drawn in by the darkness of this, and it's IC-ness. Lex is so dark-and interesting off balance and so Lex that just his character makes it worth it. I won't even get started on this Chloe. :D

It provokes a lot of emotion-(a little part of me was still yelling 'go dark! Chloe' when she got ** off at your admittedly-better-than-the-shows-Jimmy.)

Not much more to say other than-this fic makes my life better.

Such an amazing chapter! I loved the Chloe/Jimmy break-up scene, it was incredibly well written and realistic. And absolutely loved the Chloe/Lionel interaction. I always enjoy the two of them together and you played them off of each other amzingly well. I can't wait to read more!

Every time you pull it out of the bag. I'm so into this story it a tad obsessive! And I think the way you're using Lionel in it is amazing, I think the Chloe/Lionel coflict was one of the most underused storylines, and you portray him so well in this. He appears and the whole scene darkens, it's like, he'll take any excuse to touch her, but their all such idividually small actions they can't be condemed. But, you view them all together and they become cruel and predatory...
Anyways I'm rambling...
Great character depictions and really good momentum, and while I remain unsure about what an "emotional rope-a-dope" is(LOL!), I'll be back for more soon.

However, how is he going to keep the people he releases from harming anyone else? Even with their memories gone won't they still have their meteor powers? I find it funny that the person who Chloe considers her enemy is the only one who cares enough about her to try to help. Clark and Lana wouldn't even try to help her if she told them her problems, they are too wrapped up in their own. Please update again soon! I can't wait to read more of this amazing story!

That was terrific, but I think my favorite bit is what 'isn't' said at the end, nice. Plus the bandaging scene, that was perfect. Okay, enough gibberish from me, great chapter!
