ladycordelia17 2008-12-18 . chapter 1So this is your take on the Fum caravan and its triumphs and tribulations. The whole one-sentence-for-a-word setup isn't really my style, but you pull it off decently. Good in keeping with December's challenge theme of reminiscence, too, even if you didn't send the Fum caravan to Rebena Te Ra.
Interesting to see that you've romantically paired Andy with Lulie and Jake with Sheula. But then again, one can generally expect the young people of the village to grow together and eventually fall in love when they become caravanners, if they don't eventually meet their soulmates in their travels all over the world.
And Sheula and eventually Lulie couldn't forever be afraid of the proverbial Mount Kilanda--in due time, each woman's desire to reach the myrrh tree, as it were, overcame her fear of the Iron Giant. (That should please the Lady Mio nicely, according to the general principle that pleasure begets myrrh just as pain begets monsters. You might see that I begin to explore that principle and its converse as plot elements in my crossover-fic Sword of Redemption.)
Overall, nice job. |
