FireJade 9/25/10 . chapter 20
I've finally gotten around to finishing this... and I must say it was a great read. There is a rather drastic change between the "Slave" and "Senator" sections, but for a fic that's not wandered in the direction it was supposed to - it's very good! )
EmeraldWings90 10/19/09 . chapter 16
Hi! I'm really enjoying this fic. Again, you came up with a brilliant idea and wrote it in your usual, imho perfect style. :)

No, really. :)

Just a slight comment...

"Luke and the other survivors of the trench fight at what had been dubbed the Battle of Despayre—Han, Chewie, Wedge, Biggs, and a Y-wing pilot named Keyan Farlander"

Any way I count it, that's six people for me, but you only talk about five during the ceremony. ;) Sorry, this is just me being Hermione-ish. :)

But really, I love it.

R2-Darth2 5/12/09 . chapter 5
Ok, first why the hell would Jabba have a Yasalamir if he's immune to mind tricks? He doesn't care about anything else, he has bodyguards.

And why the hell would Luke be going Hitler on jedi if they were a monastic order. They didn't force their ways on anyone, if you didn't want to become a jedi you couldn't because if you tried you'd fall to the Dark side. Also the Jedi were the ones to keep the balance in the Force by fighting against Dark side users where ever they might find them. They were peacekeepers, impartial judges and negociators. They didn't forbid love! And also, Vader could not have been defeated like that, even if ambushed, he still had his lightsaber and the ability to deflect blasterfire, even without the Force.

You do know that loansharks don't actually kill people, right? Because if they do so they will not get payed. The most they could do if threaten (the threatt of pain is more affective than the pain itself), break a bone (in a way dat would allow you to work) or kidnap a family member.
FireJade 3/12/09 . chapter 10
Vader's right. That kid DOES do a lot of thinking for someone from Tatooine. :P Vader is also surprisingly quick to trust Luke, in my opinion...

The scene of Bail reading the note is rather touching, when he finds out Arelis's true intentions and reads about Arelis's feelings for Luke. I really wonder just how much Bail knows about what went on beneath Crevasse City (surely not even that it took place there!).

And unexpectedly - the mention of Han Solo!
FireJade 3/8/09 . chapter 9
I wonder what Vader has in mind for Luke. Now that the Emperor's no longer around to keep Vader on the Dark Side...

Mara Jade, on the other hand... On the one hand, I'm surprised we don't hear any complaining about having to babysit Luke for a bit. On the other, she's certainly not in her usual state of mind. Her reaction to the Emperor's death pales in comparison to what happened in EU, but I suppose that could be explained by the presence of the ysalamiri.

And there's some definite chemistry going on between Luke and Mara here... :)
FireJade 3/5/09 . chapter 8
Ouchie. Excellent portrayal of Luke's emotions... his self-esteem is at a rather critical low, but it's perfectly believable in this context.

Even Arelis, whom I've had doubts about before, acquitted herself well. I wondered if I was going to start liking her, but now I do.

"Your overconfidence is your weakness." I'd have liked to see that somewhere, given that it perfectly captures why Palpatine was shot in the head. I mean, venturing into a cave with ysalamiri in it? But I wonder if he will return...
FireJade 3/5/09 . chapter 7
... And the Emperor drops the Force bomb on Luke. He also saw through Luke extremely easily - it's enough to make me wonder if the Emperor would have discovered the location of the Rebel base had he interrogated Leia in ANH.

I wonder when the Emperor will drop the next bomb, explaining why he's so gleeful at the end.

One thing, though: Luke Force pushes the Emperor, and the Emperor *slides*? That just doesn't seem right to me.
FireJade 3/2/09 . chapter 6
A plan, eh? It did seem like they were being rather unreasonably provocative.

And Mara makes her first appearance. When you first introduced Delana, I thought for a moment that she was Mara, despite it being far too early chronologically... but now, I can't say how excited I am. :P

And this Luke - he's a pretty sneaky guy. He's a much better talker than EU Luke, even if he's not the smoothest politician around...
FireJade 3/1/09 . chapter 5
So politicians don't like Force users, and Force users don't like politicians. I don't suppose I need to mention the obvious quandary in the case of a Force-using politician. :)

Arelis still seems to have an unusual amount of confidence - somehow, she really knows what she's doing. I'm also a bit dubious about Vader not noticing the ysalamir at first, since I would think it would be an obvious difference for someone who's used the Force his entire life.

At the same time, I'm wondering how Opakwa will act. He's had a soft spot for Luke, but he seems none too happy about how Vader is being treated...

And that chapter title was extremely misleading! :P
FireJade 3/1/09 . chapter 4
Arelis Antilles... related to one of the many canon Antilles, perhaps? And yet she's the first character I'd suspect to have a hidden motive here.

I'm a bit surprised that Arelis hasn't noticed anything odd about Luke from his upbringing (injuries left by the beatings, perhaps?), although he *did* say he was from a bad place, so perhaps that isn't such a surprise. But by far the best touch was what Arelis and Luke seem to have against Force users. :P
FireJade 3/1/09 . chapter 3
... And so Luke and Opakwa head off alone. The twist with Crumb was great. :)
phantom-jedi1 3/1/09 . chapter 20
w00t!

I still love reading that last part.

FireJade 2/28/09 . chapter 2
Still loving it. :) You do a great job of making all of the characters come to life; Luke, Jabba, and the OCs are all written well!

I also love how you capture the fact that Luke *is* a kid at this time, but he still feels like Luke, determination and all.
FireJade 2/28/09 . chapter 1
Intriguing beginning! This is not the first Luke-as-Jabba's-slave fic I've read, but I'm interested in seeing where you've gone with this...
