Hi, new reader who just wanted to avoid becoming yet another lurker.

An awesome story with a very interesting premise, battleground earth just never gets old with me. (: It should be interesting to see exactly what Sam will be doing to enact his threat. After all, considering the situation it seems a little implausible that he can do anything that others can't but that should make it all the more interesting to see.

The different aspects of this story are fascinating, and you write them so wonderfully! I look forward to the next chapter. :D

Nothing to lose would be about the only thing that could motivate a human to take on Starscream almost single handedly! Wow, poor Sam...I do like how you took such a simple prompt and turned it into an epic of survival!

Thought I'd reviewed for this when you posted it as the preview, guess not, so I shall now. I hadn't expected it just yet, I thought you'd have a chapter or two before you posted this. Megatron doesn't seem to have heard the saying regarding backing an animal into a corner. I suspect he will figure it out very shortly. Not bad. But to answer Sam's question, I would say that sometimes a price can indeed go too high sometimes.

Strong words but I'm not sure if they really fit Sam.

Still no clue what's missing but perhaps you're right and it is a little bit too disjointed. You built up some tension in each chapter only to lose it in the next because it isn't continuing right away.
Perhaps the chapters are too short, perhaps they lack the certain dramatic arc - I don't know.
But the story is still interesting and I want to see how Screamer and Megs come to blows over Screamer's "Ability" so keep going *g*

Not Bee! Oh you evil, evil writer. I love it! Your 'voices' of the characters seem spot on. I can't wait to read more. And I shall attempt to be less lurky for you.

Lurker here, reviewing as ordered. I like this story, especially the bit with Sam and Bee at the beginning. The character development with Simmons was a nice touch. I'm a little worried about the somewhat gratuitous Prowlicade subplot, and I hope it won't turn into a plot tumor, but you're a good enough writer that it's not a major concern, and I'm interested in where you're going with that. Lennox's characterization as 'good family man' seems a little flat, and I hope you're going to flesh him out a little, since he's rather boring in comparison to the other characters who are rather interesting. The constant refrain of 'it's nearly Christmas' had me wincing (in a good way) because I knew that something terrible was probably going to happen. I'm pretty sure Mickey is dead, and look forward to finding out if I'm right, and if so, how Sam going to react. Sam mentions Miles in this chapter, I hope you bring him in. I'm looking forward to the next part, and hopefully a traumatized Sam (have a mentioned I love Traumatized!Sam? It probably makes me a terrible person *evil smiley*). I'm looking forward to the all out war breaking out.

And this rambled a lot, so I'll summarize and say I think this is a great story and I look forward to reading more.

You really got the destruction down perfectly. Will's desperation as he and Jazz shift through the rubble, Starscream's joy in watching the town burn, Sam realizing that there's more at stake here than he thought and that he can't afford to place the lives of himself and his friends above the safety of the Cube.

I love it, but it's horrible at the same time. (Be)
