this was quite a read.. very reflective of how the story worked without the special effects.. nice work..

Oh, how sad. You caught the robotic feel of the crew very well at the end; I could almost hear Bootstrap's gritty voice at the end (though I realize it wasn't necessarily meant to be Bootstrap at all, I just heard his voice, haha).

Some of your transition words could be done away with, like "in addition." They take away from the really nice language you've got going.

Last thing I can say his, a more descriptive image of his life might be nice. Other than that, really nice work.

Chilling, haunting and beautifully written. I love the way the story just fades away as does his identity.

I think I might be slightly masochistic, because I decided to read this instead of fluff. :( I kind of expected the ending, but it still hurt to read about how he lost himself to the point where nothing- not even someone he once loved- could return him to himself. Depressing.

Nice work. :) And now I'm really going to read fluff.

Oh, wow. Like you said that was dark. It was written very well. The depiction of the guy succumbing to his fate was great ( that sounds kinda cruel and sadistic doesn't it? ) and felt bad that his wife-to-be saw him like that but he was unable to remember who she was ;_;. Still loved it. Wished PotC movies were a little darker now...

That WAS quite dark, but dark in a good way, not protagonist-brutally-kills-all-his-friends dark.
