Oh this is beautiful. It's amazing how powerful dialogue can be - and that last bit of yours just about reduced me to tears. As did that quote you used at the beginning, from Chapter 43. I always felt so sorry for Alphonse, so I can imagine how much it must hurt for Ed. Beautiful piece.

In your A/N, when you said the plot bunny was nibbling, and that it wouldn't let go, I got the image in my head of a bunny chewing on someone's arm, and them shaking it, trying to get the bunny off. :) It was awesome. XD

For a first FMA fic, you did wonderfully. I can totally see Ed doing this for Al.
