See, THIS time I was prepared...;-) I was actually thinking it might be a grandfather or someone, just because of the vague language, but I was basically expecting an inexplicably sick Dib.

The only two critiques I can think of: a.) people are supposed to be nicer to their grandparents than their siblings (not that the Gaz/Dib dynamic isn't messed up), and b.) "babbling old gimp" just doesn't seem like a Gazzy thing to say. But the basic point you're trying to make here is good. Maybe you should write a "Gaz abuses Membrane" story with the same basic concept?

I like how it sounds like Dib is coming to visit from some kind of...hospital or something, and then, surprise! It does make me wonder where Dib is, though.

More than anything, this story made me remember things about my family: how almost every Christmas my dad reminds us that Grandma and Grandpa don't have many left, how Uncle Tom sat on Grandma's legs on her deathbed. O_o Now that I think of it, my uncle is more like Gaz than I realized, although he doesn't have the vindictive streak. Erm. That was probably TMI. Anyway, good work, Dibsthe1!
