Asugar 12/27/08 . chapter 1THANK YOU for the best Christmas present ever! I am not sure I have adequate words to say how much I adored this story and the world behind it. I love John as Torren's daddy in Torren's eyes, the building of the castle (and that they would have to take it apart to rebuild it on Atlantis with Rodney, Ronon and the other "little" boys), the photo albums, the glimpses of John's other family members and how they have missed them, the unspoken stories in the Christmas cards, Dave (more John, Teyla, Torren and Dave, please, please, please), John's comment to her about one more present from Santa and how she looks at him expecting a naughty leer and sees something more serious in his eyes, the moments on the couch, the ring (sounds gorgeous!) and his fear and joy as well as her joy at what it might and does mean and Torren looking down at them and then joining them? My heart about burst with joy at the love, humor and angst of it all and I must beg for sequels, prequels, anything and everything more you'll give us of John and Teyla. |
dispatcher652 12/24/08 . chapter 1I love fluff! That was so great. I really liked how you gave John a connection back to his family which helped him make a connection to his now new family. |
bailey1ak 12/23/08 . chapter 1Very sweet story, Merry Christmas. |
The Puppeteer 12/23/08 . chapter 1It was a good read. I don't know why I felt an overwhelming sense of cheesy-ness but it was a good read. Romantic fluff to be exact. But that was to be expected considering it is a romance and it was a family, X- mas fic. I liked John's relationship with his brother, I think I was actually more interested in that ultimately than him and Teyla and would probably have liked far more of that. I liked role of Kanaan and how it was handled in order to ensure Teyyla/John making that good. I guess I was just not interested in the romance of John and Teyla since I felt the story made the couple seem contrived in some way. Like something from Fox Family or Lifetime X-mas special. It could have been my error but wasn't Teyla and John permanently on Earth now (I may have read wrong from Dave)? It just seemed off considering Kanaan's father and their connection to Atlantis. In any event, I wasn't fully sold on the romance for some reason, but the story in and of itself was sweet. |
StanaTorv 12/23/08 . chapter 1very sweet. lovely work and well written :D sam |
rmonroe 12/23/08 . chapter 1That was so very John, and so very Teyla. Excellent work! |
APFW 12/22/08 . chapter 1I am usually not a fan a "Fluff" but you did keep the characters true. I would love to have read Ronon's and Rodney's reaction to the engagement. |
jtjaforever 12/22/08 . chapter 1I'm off to find kleenex, but before I do I just want to say how much I love this. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. |
PoetTraveler 12/22/08 . chapter 1This was a beautiful story... lush descriptions and characterizations. A lovely mellowing of John and Teyla as well as such a wonderful way to bring John back to his brother and his family as well as to introduce Teyla and Torren to Earth and Christmas. I so very enjoyed this. Thanks for posting! |
tripwatcher2 12/22/08 . chapter 1Deck the halls with Shey-la fluff! Fa la la la la - la la la la! LOL! Love it - absolutely perfect! |
