nienorbun 2009-07-22 . chapter 1Hey, I read this last night, and really really enjoyed it. I don't normally go for romances, but this was done so well. First time I've found Ventrue to be sympathetic too :)
Awesome story. Romance, violence, sex, heartbreak, love: what's not to like! |
The Deb of Night 2009-03-07 . chapter 24*squee*
Humor, romance, and you still managed to reflect the animalistic nature of the Kindred as a whole especially the Nosferatu.
I deffinatly dig the happy ending for the two of them and the fact that they were able to work through their differences and make it to a point where they could actually be together. An Daedulas's dry humor adds just enough twist to it that you get a chuckle out of even with the situation their in.
The fact he tuned them out while explaining some of the things to him is a personal favorite of mine to be honest with you, it brings more deepth to him and shows that even with age and wisdom he doesn't know absolutely everything nor does he want too.

The Deb of Night 2009-03-05 . chapter 23This chapter was FANTASTIC!
The emotion in it was raw and you could feel it as if you werre standing right there with the character, and you made Adiran seem all the more real with her little quirks like buying gifts, and her note scrawled in the book.
I have to say I'm looking forward to more to see how things between Adrian and Daedulas work out.
And props on beheading Cyrus. *wrinkles nose* He was one Brujah I just never liked.

The Deb of Night 2009-02-20 . chapter 21I just finished reading the last two chapters you added and i have to say their some of your best work thus far in this story. Especailly the last chapter, the raw emotion and the history were fantastic and it really allowed you to see past the mask that Daedulas wears to keep others from seeing the softer side of himself.
“The only monsters Kindred fear are loneliness and empty centuries wasted and with no purpose. Those are our demons. Final death is a gift and one that some crave after so many empty years.” - This was beautifully written and touching, I'm not sure really what else to say other than it's a beautiful qoute and fit the character that it came from so well.
And your right, so many questions answered now but I still can't wait to see more of Adrian and Daedulas.

egastin77 2009-02-16 . chapter 19I love this story alot. keep up the good work. |
The Deb of Night 2009-02-15 . chapter 17The tension continues to build.
I do agree with opposites attracting and the two of them being like fire and water, which should prove to be a very interesting experience. Poor Daedulas, I feel so bad for him, so lost and yet there’s nothing he can do at the moment about it.
Though I have to admit that I spit my drink out when I read the bit about him calling Julian a whore, that was so funny in a classic sort of way and kicking Cameron out of the Conclave was priceless, absolutely priceless. I loved it.
Can’t wait for more,

The Deb of Night 2009-02-10 . chapter 12Sorry for the late reviews. I live in Kentucky and we just really got our phone and electric back (and even then it isn't that stable) after the ice storm.
I love it all.
Though I have to say my favorite thing has been the building emotion and turmoil in Adrian, it makes her seem so human desite what it is that she's become. Loved the little dive by Joshua about Sasha :D.
Can't wait to read more. |
The Deb of Night 2009-01-26 . chapter 7Fantastic both chapters.
I love the confrontation with Lillie and seeing someone put her in her place when they were in the right, and the fact that Adrian is her own person. She isn’t going to change for anyone or anything no matter what they try to get her to become.
Evil, but I love the suspenseful build up in things. It leaves you wondering and makes your imagination run wild with what really happened and how they could have gotten past the Nosferatu in the tunnels.
Possibly a traitor amongst them?
But seriously excellent work and I shall be waiting patiently, or at least some what, for the next chapter!

AlleatoryMadness 2009-01-21 . chapter 5I'm really quite enjoying this. Adrian's a wonderful character (anyone who pulls a Broojah around by its tie is good) and her interactions with the other characters are wonderful. Especially with Cameron. =3 He's such a little nutter in this.
And, Broojah Pot Pie? It's decent, but wouldn't you say stew would be better? |
The Deb of Night 2009-01-11 . chapter 5Go Adrian!
Absolutely brilliant and a snappy twist too, I like the fact that she’s willing to put herself in the line of fire to get at the Brujah and to in a sense help Julian and the fact that she strangled Cameron with is tie, nice touch! I thought you did a good job with Cameron, he seemed as smug and full of himself as what he did in Cabin in the Woods but still well spoken and oh so evil.
And the story that Daedulas was telling about the time period, fantastic. It really gives you a look into what life for kindred must have been like at that time while at the same time keeping it light and kind of humorous. That’s why I love this story, in light of the serious nature you have managed to add some dark and dry humor to lighten the mood just enough that the readers senses are always on the prowl.
Woo Sonny, yeah I thought Sonny rocked the way that he played Eddie and let him dig his own grave.
An excellent update and a fantastic chapter.

LIL'DOE Aka whosthatgirl 2009-01-11 . chapter 5Go, Adrian!! Love the new chapter! |
The Deb of Night 2009-01-10 . chapter 4Another wonderful chapter, though I have to tell you compared to the others this one truly blew me away. The emotion in both Daedulas and Adrian, the fact that rather than receive all the perks that would come with being embraced by the Prince all she really wants is to be with Daedulas.
More and more as it goes on you are really beginning to get a grasp of the character and you start to feel as if Adrian isn’t just a fictional character but a real person that you could see yourself knowing. The more that I read of her the more that I can see what Daedulas was so smitten with her as well, and the more you can see her inner strengths as well as her outer strengths.
And may I just say *fan girl scream* it had Cash in it, I liked the interaction between the two of them and the fact that she threw him out of her room but only after backing him into a wall.
Can’t wait till the next chapter to see what’s to come.

 LIL'DOE Aka whosthatgirl 2009-01-08 . chapter 3More! More! More! Can you tell I like your story?LOL! |
The Deb of Night 2009-01-07 . chapter 3Forgive me now but I’ve just gotten the chance to read Chapter Two. Holiday fun and my son starting school again after Christmas Break, things have been kind of crazy to say the least.
Chapter Two
I don’t consider Adrian to be a Mary Sue in the least bit, in fact I honestly see nothing Mary Sueish about her. She struck me as someone who had spent their life studying, and I could be wrong but I think in her studying she sort of lost track or need of social contact. It happens to a lot of people, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a scholar or continuing to study those things that you enjoy.
I also very much like the profession that you have chosen for Adrian as well, it’s fresh and it’s different.
The interactions between Daedulas and Julian are fantastic, I think you have captured the two’s friendship very well.
But probably the thing that has struck me most of all with this chapter is that you have managed to capture Daedulas so well. The age, the wisdom, and yet at the same time the longing and loneliness that comes from being a Kindred of his age as well as a Nosferatu and his wisdom. I think you have truly tapped into the character and brought new life into him once again.
