Well done! It was indeed one of the best cautionary tales I've read. Truly dark that I wanted to run and hide, yet the end made it all worth it. From Kirk's discoveries to what happened to his family, his dealing with his own hate the actual actions afterwards of such a war to truly make it horrific and something to be avoided if possible. The ending summed it up in such a simple way it was beautiful in execution. A hard lesson to get through but a well wrought one.

I have just read all five chapters in this story and it was very good. You did a great job in bringing so many what if elements.

A couple of things: First, I've tought about the Klingon and Romulon use of cloak in yours and other ST and B% cross-overs and I'm sure they would be that effective. Tachyon extensively in B5 universe. I would be reasonable to assume that some of their their sensors are tachyon based or prhaps cloaking would cause static in the their communications. Second when are you getting back to allies in blood? We've been left hanging for over a year now. Over all like the story, hated Bones getting killed but it is a fresh approach with the Federation showing its fangs when faced with destruction.

Great to known that A Thin Veneer will be over soon.

GREAT CHAPTER! (*x4) Oh boy, did the Minbari and the Vorlons make a big mistake.

As a cautionary tale this works. By the end of this chapter I find myself numb by the losses suffered on all sides. It was not, however as dark a chapter as the previous one. That surprised me considering what happened in this chapter. I don't feel as if I need to go find a sugary sweet story to compensate for how dark it had been in 3. I'll say a nice balance all things considered.

Holy crap.

I would have found this development stunning anyway but after watching the new Trek film and seeing the events there, this story takes on a whole new level of shock and awe.

Amazingly well done.
