Can the Boy Who Lived and other war heroes threaten the Ministry in any way if Snape is punished?

Definitely enjoying the way Snape is lashing out at everyone. They deserve a lot more lashing.

The part you have created about Eileen's life and why she married Tobias is an interesting concept! "... the bad Ministry caught her, took her wand, took her money. It was their fault she had to marry a dirty Muggle. She'd been excluded from the wizarding world, was even useless to the Dark Lord. Wandless and in a dirty marriage. She told Severus that his blood was dirty and he had to work hard to make up for that." The explanation for her marrying a Muggle [survival in the Muggle world] and her treatment and opinion of Severus as having 'dirty blood' would be more than enough to turn a little child's whole life upside down!

But, this line confuses me... "Nineteen. His first mission. He was supposed to steal a portrait. One of the most guarded portraits in the wizarding world, the grimoire written by Salazar Slytherin. By now, he was a gifted thief, there were no problems." "Grimoire written" indicates a book of dark magic written by Slytherin. I do not understand your referring to it as a portrait.

Don't know why I didn't mention it in January when I read this chapter the first time ... you have Severus' birthday wrong. It's January 9th, not the 1st. Unless you mean to use that as an error on the part of the courts to hold off on the proceedings until it is corrected and legal.

Very good chapter. A different sort of backstory, given his mother's involvement with Voldemort, but it works well.

The Ministry are such berks. How in Hell is he supposed to do this when he's already in failing health, and the Dementors are more-or-less camped out outside his cell. Hermione is magnificent, and I'm glad the Order at least wants to _try_ to help him, all things considered. Besides, neither side will care much for the truth as Snape sees it. The Ministry, especially, will not care for a true list of who was really involved and not Imperiused.

I guess they're kind of "throwing the book at him" especially in charging him with involvement in the Potter's deaths. Did Dumbledore tell the ministry about Snape's involvement back when Voldemort first fell? They wouldn't have lately learned of it, as Harry and Dumbledore appeared to be the only ones to really know what happened with the prophecy.
